Chalet Chardon Lounge

Description

Chalets Chardon & Bruyere are located right on the blue Inversins piste that joins Belle Plagne and Plagne Bellecote.

Chalets Biniou & Boudin are located by a green run that goes through Belle Plagne village.

Access to the piste is directly from the chalets, and skiing/snowboarding back is possible throughout the season due to the high elevation of 2050m.

All Chalets are Finished using the traditional Savoyard style of construction of stone and timber, the accommodation has character, whilst also providing rooms with excellent facilities. The style of construction continues through the interior - traditional plaster and wood panelling on the walls, tiled floors in the public areas, and bedrooms and bathrooms fitted with pine furniture.

The village is very compact, walking from one side to the other takes approx. 5 mins, and most of the parking is underground.

Chalet Chardon

Chalet Chardon is a Chalet-Apartment, all on 1 level, as described in the plan below:

Warm boot room to ensure boots are toasty warm and dry at the start of the day.

All bedrooms off the lounge area.
All Twins. All En-suite bathrooms with Jacuzzi baths and hairdryers. All have access to the balcony (except Bedroom 3, which has access just adjacent, off the lounge).

Please Note: Normal occupation 14 guests. With additional mattresses, the maximum number of guests can be 17 persons. Infants in cots can be added to this maximum (cots can be provided). Annexes available for larger groups (up to 23guests).

Group Sizes

The Chalets can be booked on a bedroom by bedroom basis, or by groups.

In situations where the numbers are in a group are greater than:-
12 (or 15 if additional mattresses are used) in Chalet Bruyere or
14 (or 17 if additional mattresses are used) in Chalet Chardon then

groups may still be accommodated by securing additional Chalet Annexe accommodation (ACAs).

Everyone can still come together for meals and socialising in the main Chalet that has been booked. ACA3 has the additional benefit of it's own lounge area, which works well for families seeking a recreational area for children to enjoy videos / games etc. at their desired volume!

The Chalet Annexe (ACAs) have the same standard of furnishings as the main Chalets, are on the same level, and are only 10metres from the entrances to Bruyere and Chardon. They can accommodate a number of guests, as follows:

ACA1 with 1 twin bedroom and 2 sofa beds, sleeping up to 4
ACA3 with 3 twin bedrooms and a lounge area, sleeping up to 6

The following Table gives an indication of the possible combinations available to meet various group sizes.

Chardon and Bruyere are next door to each other, in the same building. Moving between the two is very easily done.

* For these numbers, 2 evening meal sittings required (children then adults) to manage seating at the Dining Tables, although - at a squeeze - 22 can be seated in Chardon. ~ Where 2 Chalets are booked side-by-side, it is possible to have any children eat an earlier evening meal in one Chalet and then the adults together for a later meal in the other. If all adults, then there would need to be a separate sitting in either Chalet. - Occasionally - depending on availability of accommodation - rooms in Chalets Chardon or Bruyere may be used as an alternative to the ACAs - no supplements will be applied if this is the case.

Additional Chalet-Annexes

These are constructed to the same standard as Chalets Chardon and Bruyere; and are on the same level - at a distance of only 10metres from their entrance doors.

Non-Smoking Policy

For the comfort and safety of all of our guests we operate a no-smoking policy in all of the rooms in the Chalets. Smoking is, however, permitted on the Balconies.

Catering

Typical starter

With a combined experience of 23 seasons running Chalets in the Alps, Clair and Phil have developed a reputation for producing a varied and exciting menu of excellent food.

Clair supplements her Chalet experience in the winter with summer employment as a chef in some well-known restaurants in Edinburgh - including Mal Maison (French Bistro) and Henderson's (Edinburgh's longest established Vegetarian / Vegan restaurant). This, combined with her background as a state-registered Dietician makes her an asset in any kitchen! All menus are planned by Clair, and staff are trained in the preparation of the dishes to maintain standards.

SBS aims to provide a high level of catering. We also wish to be flexible in the range of meals that we provide. Thus, if you have a favourite dish - or indeed a whole menu (within reason!) - that your group would like during the week, then discuss it with us in advance, and we will be happy to accommodate your wishes.

Provision can be made for vegetarians, vegans, non-red meat, fish-only, dairy and gluten-free diets. A separate menu (and dinner time) for children can also be arranged.

Breakfast

Bacon and Eggs (other eggs for non-meat eaters), Porridge.
Selection of cereals, croissants, yoghurts, fruit juices, fruit, bread and jams.
Tea, Hot Chocolate and Filter coffee.

Lunch

We offer a Half-Board service, thus there are a variety of restaurants (many on the piste), takeaways and a bakery to help you with lunch options.

Afternoon Tea

Freshly made cake, bread and jams. Tea, Hot Chocolate and Filter coffee. Selection of cordials.

Dinner

Start with a choice from the following aperitifs: Vin Chaud, Kir, wine.

Following this, a four-course menu to delight and satisfy the healthiest of skiing appetites - accompanied by AOC quality bottled French wines or soft drinks.

For example:

Greek Feta Salad with caramelised red onions and a balsamic vinaigrette

Fillet of Salmon marinated in a light ginger and chilli jus; pan seared and served with Noodles, Roasted Fennel and Pumpkin Mash

Chocolate Roulade with raspberry reduction

A meal in France would not be complete without savouring some regional cheeses. We provide a changing selection

Reduced rates

When all full price beds and rooms are taken (Chardon 14guests/ Bruyere 12guests/ Biniou 10guests), 1 of these beds is provided free of charge (except when booked for less than 1week).
Children Under 18yo, £25pppw off above prices, Under 10yo, £50pppw off above prices (£3pppn for Short Breaks).
Mattresses can be placed in a limited number of rooms at a reduced rate of 75% of the above prices.

Prices on basis of 2 in a room. Where only 1 guest occupies a room a supplement of plus 50% of the £pp rate is applied .
